Construction of King Brothers new Fountain Way scrap metal yard in stranraer and the launch of our Skip hire division.
In 1933, King Brothers was launched by The King family in Stranraer as a scrap metal merchants, also specialising in sacks and rags. The founders operated from several yards in and around the town, gaining a reputation for good service in the local area.

In 1980, due to development in Stranraer town centre, King Brothers relocated to a yard in Station Street which was to be home for the next 34 years. At this point the family moved into its second generation, with the two current directors joining the scrap metal business. This would see the biggest transition in King Brothers history up to that point, with the purchase of their first hooklift trucks, scrap handlers, baler and the development of a new yard on the horizon.

In 2014 King Brothers opened their current site on Fountain Way. A four acre, custom built yard complete with 50 ton weighbridge, car de-pollution bay and reception shed. This was the result of many years of development, taking the site from a green field to a purpose built scrap metal facility to be proud of.
In 2016 this was further developed to incorporate a waste transfer station with picking station as part of the new skip hire division. Our fleet has risen to 6 trucks with over 300 skips and hooklift bins of different sizes to provide a complete skip hire service. Proof that King Brothers continues to grow from strength to strength whilst still retaining its local identity and values.
